It's important to prepare properly when getting ready to use a new technological device in your classroom. Some kids may be completely familiar of the device where as others may have never gotten the chance to see what that device is all about.
- Having a training day for all students and staff to play with the devices and understand how to use it before it is used as a learning tool. It should not make the students behind because they are unsure on how to use it.
- The applications needed should be previously entered on the device.
- It's crucial to discuss the rules and expectations when it comes to working with this new device otherwise students will believe there are no boundaries and they will act accordingly.
- Monitoring what students are doing on the devices by walking around as the students are working
- Monitoring what students are doing on the devices by having them check the device in and out each morning they get to school and in the afternoon when they leave. Then as the teacher you may follow up on the device by checking that they were doing what they were assigned.
