What did I know and what did I think about this topic before class? What am I curious about and would like to know about this topic?
I used Schoology in High School and I wasn’t a big fan of it. I don’t think my teachers knew how to use it very well because it was the first year we used in our school. I thought it was more of a burden than a reliable source. I would like to know more ways to use it as a teacher and see it in that viewpoint compared to the student’s viewpoint. I may like it better once I know how it works in different ways I was unsure of before.
What did I learn through my preparation for class?
When preparing for class I quickly learned how useful Schoology can be in a teacher viewpoint as a Learning Management System. It’s a very organized and effective tool that allows students to be able to connect with the teacher outside of the classroom. I didn’t realize how much you could connect with your teachers through Schoology until now. My teachers didn’t stress that feature and it would’ve been helpful to know. While preparing for class I looked at the link on Moodle as well as researching on my own. I found this link straight from Schoology.com so I know it is extremely useful; it goes over all parts of Schoology on a video format in detail.
Additional resources that I found on this topic:
I created my own Schoology account which was the best way for me to learn on this topic. The best way to learn is to do it yourself which why Schoology is great for students. As I created my own account I realized all the features Schoology offers and how much students can be engaged in the website.

I continued to research on Learning Management System and found a very informational link. What I found most important about this article is the types of websites they list that are used for LMS. It always says the components and factors of LMS which is important for everyone to know.

What did I learn in class this week on this topic? How did my understanding and thinking about the topic change through this process?
This week I learned I was unable to attend class but as I checked out the links on the Moodle site I realized there was a tutorial link posted full of “how-to” videos regarding each feature of Schoology. It was extremely helpful for my understanding on this topic. As I continued to look on Moodle for more information I noticed other students shared the Schoology access codes so I could check out their accounts as well. That made me realize how different each page can be and that’s an awesome learning management system!
